Naomi, A 6-year old girl in Oregon (United States), was attending her older sister’s football match when she decided to leave and go play in the nearby dusty plain because the match was too boring. And as little kids do, she decided to play in the dirt and started digging. Few moments later, she found a couple of rocks and bones that initially looked ordinary.
It turns out that they were nothing but ordinary. They were 65 million-year-old fossils. To put this into perspective, the dinosaurs went extinct 66 million years ago.
Speaking to reporters, Naomi’s family said for some reason, Naomi knew right away that the rock-like object she had found was something important. They said the swirl of the object reminded Naomi of the mystical and powerful necklace from a “Moana,” a children’s movie made by Disney.
Below is a CNN tweet about Naomi’s discovery.
